Tales From UNIBEN episode 1

WORLD WAR 3 On her head is a hat that looks like the ones used by Jamaican marijuana-lords. Her jean trousers hug her legs tightly, and a black pair of socks and sneakers on her feet. She has two shirts on, and a larger-than-life cardigan to top. Her bag is loaded with books, and her shoulders bear the burden. She branches off to June 12 and buys "maishai" (bread and egg) of 150 Naira, and a bottle of La Casera - a very cold one. She carries these in a black nylon, and buys some gum which she puts into her pocket. Then she marches on! She arrives at the Faculty of Education, and searches the Lecture Theaters for an empty seat in any. She finds one, and sits, with different eyes peering on her. She drops her bag beside her, and the black nylon on the table. She throws a gum into her mouth, and punches her phone. Twenty minutes later, she checks time with her phone. It is 10PM. She brings out her notebook, then a textbook. Flips the pages for several seconds. Her eye...

It’s only UBA you will enter & see empty cashier seats… They will be up to like 2 employed but there will be only 1 Cashier who ends up delaying customers. GTB: This bank has the highest number of customers! The only bank that looks like aba ariaria market. U queue like mofedaku. The only difference is that you see people with suits and pen, they have their wahala but I like them shaa Skye Bank: Hian! This bank will just be looking like somebody’s bathroom. Very small bank, dem go jampack people like sardines! Their workers no dey even wear suit again probably because of heat… Everybody dey enter the bank with hand fan Diamond Bank: Only their Lemon Green Colour can make you open 18 accounts with them even if nothing is inside. That is the only thing good about them. They have few branches in cities, their banking hall is like onitsha main m...

SUG PARLIAMENTARIANS VS SUG EXECUTIVES

The entire Uniben SUG parliamentarians expressed their anger last night on their whatsapp group with the fact that the principal officers and the safe impact expos were seen in a picture having fun, eating and celebrating while the average uniben students are suffering The picture was posted on the SUG speaker's facebook handle and it drew a lot of comments condemning the activity In defense, the SUG Clerk said they were at Capitol to see the Pro Chancellor on official duties and they too are allowed to have a private life The parliamentarians frown at this and that principal offers should look at the situation in Hall 4 hostel, that the hostel has not been swept for weeks but nothing has been done about it. They also said that the allowance is no longer the problem, that they too have been fooled by the president and principal officers The parliamentarians decided not to address any of the principal officers by their position in office but rather by their name...

FUNNY QUESTIONS FRESHERS ASK FREQUENTLY

Believe me, all old students were once new and asked a lot of funny questions on reaching campus. But, over time, the student acclimatizes and can't help but laugh at his earlier questions. Just enjoy the list. 1. WHERE IS AKIN DEKO AUDITORIUM?: This seems like a very normal question to ask but can be really funny since the fresher usually asks this question at the main gate without even having enough patience as to walk a little into the campus where he/she would locate it. Some will ask this question while standing next to the building or in front of 500LT. 2. WILL THEY CLEAR ME? I am not the clearance officer and cannot tell you that. Come on! We asked this question especially for those who filled the correction forms. In fact, the only thing on the mind of an average fresher is to get cleared and this truly is the priority. The questions most popular under this category are 'I have 3 names on my WAEC Certificate and 2 names on the Kofa page, will they clear me?' ...

Uniben accommodation and its environs: Ekosodin, Osasogie, and BDPA

The Environment of the University Of Benin is one designed for academic learning. This is why the institution is reputed for producing well bred graduates. However, going to class, night class and library are not just enough for the attainment of that level of erudition, where you stay, what you eat and your daily routine are also important in achieving that accomplishment. I'll channel the article towards where you live. If you plan on staying pretty close to UNIBEN environment, you have four options, they include; 1) School Hostels 2) Ekosodin 3) Osasogie 4) BDPA Like every other thing in Life, living in any of these places will not be all rose, tulips and marshmallows, neither would it be all rocky, thorny and gritty. Each of these places have their own advantages and disadvantages. Starting with the School Hostel: There are 7 undergraduate hostels in UNIBEN, 8 actually, if we should count Keystone hostel as well, but no one (figuratively) knows when application ...

But I heard from ancestors that it once existed. This is the only time when guys are allowed into girls hostel and vice versa. Between 4pm and 6pm, people switch back to the conventional way of life. Things like shot-putting and bathing outside is put on hold until when the visitors leave. Bed space: When hostels are open for students to apply, everyone r...
